Airport hotels: Crowne Plaza Amsterdam – Schiphol (The Netherlands)

Nowadays, as people tend to travel more, be there business or leisure trips, the need in accommodation is growing. Amsterdam has become sort of a hub for airline companies, as most of travellers decide to choose this city as one of the most convenient locations. This time we are going to make an inspection of the Crowne Plaza Amsterdam – Schiphol hotel in the Netherlands.

The arrival to the hotel was easy; there is a free shuttle from the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to the nearest hotels in the area. One good thing I would like to mention is that I was provided with a room a little earlier than the official check-in time and I was upgraded for free to an executive room as an IHG member, in which I got a chocolate and bottle of water for free. In addition to that, there was complimentary bottled water in the lobby and water at the desk, which I found really convenient and as a good gesture of caring of its customers. Among other things, what was quite noticeable is a concierge taking care of various issues. It created a feeling of a 5-star hotel (in reality the hotel is 4-star).

Speaking of location, the hotel is situated in close proximity to the airport and a few steps away from the Hoofddorp train station. The hotel is also quite easily accessible by car. The design is not too fancy, though you can clearly perceive its level.

Hotel address: Planeetbaan 2, Hoofddorp – 2132 HZ, Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The hotel lobby has free for use computers; it is worth mentioning that those are Apple computers. You can easily print something out and access your mail. The elevators have a classic design so that you have a feeling of old good times. Once you get to your floor, you can easily find your room; all signs are visible. The room was very wide and included all required amenities. There was a TV, table, and minibar in the living room, while the second TV and a safe were in the bedroom, as well as a complimentary bottle of water and chocolate which were awaiting me on a bedside table. The bed was wide and soft, really comfortable. The hotel also provided me with a free set of special herbal spray for a good sleep. The view from my room was to the parking lot and the road. I should say in that place you get a taste of the Netherlands; there is something about it that makes it so attractive beside its cities.

Restaurant area was wide and clean; really good choice of food, pleasing even vegetarians and vegans. You have a feeling of a calm place. One thing worth mentioning is that breakfast is normally not included into the price, it costs extra.

The ordered wake-up call was delivered according to my request. The reception personnel were quite friendly and were able to communicate with customers, making the service more personalized. All in all, the impression was quite positive, and I would definitely recommend Crowne Plaza Amsterdam – Schiphol hotel to travellers.
