InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has launched a new design concept called H4 which was developed for Holiday Inn hotels. Created back in 1952, today this brand is among top biggest hotel chains. In order to anticipate as much as possible the future guests’ needs, H4 design has been developed together with the owners and frequent guests of Holiday Inn hotels.

The key concept developed by IHG concerns the rooms’ design. First of all, space at the room entrance has been rearranged: it has been turned into sort of a small antechamber, where the guests can leave their coats, keys, personal belongings or recharge mobile devices without entering the room’s living area.

Secondly, an additional room category has been introduced: new rooms are equipped with an extendable bed which can be used as a sofa during the day and transformed into a fully-fledged sleeping place at night.

There is also a movable table available and more than five connectors for charging different types of devices.

The H4 design concept will enable Holiday Inn to expand the target audience and endow the 60-year brand with additional amenities for even more comfortable stays. Since the guests will be able to personalize the room space to their own taste and choose best spots suitable for leisure and work, such hotels will equally suit business and family travellers.

Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Bellingham has become the first hotel with the new H4 design opened in the USA.
