Spain has a special place in my heart, as I adore the culture, the people and the environment that showcases the country’s natural beauty. I had the honour of staying at Castell Son Claret for a few days, and my experience was dreamlike. It’s actually a restored 15th-century castle and exudes an air of refinement and grandeur.

Drinking and dining with style

Upon arrival, we were greeted with a tasty welcome drink (fresh, homemade lemonade) at Castell Bar. In general, throughout the whole stay the staff were very friendly and always willing to help with whatever we needed.

The mornings with free breakfast were delicious, and in the evening, we enjoyed dinner at Zaranda restaurant, which has the impressive status of being the only two Michelin star restaurant on the Balearic Islands. Ordering some fish and desserts, we savoured every bite.

A classic, tasteful residence that felt like home

Our place of residence was in the Garden Suite located within the estate gardens, and we were delighted to find it was bright and spacious.

Featuring designs with natural bronze tones, and a gorgeous view of the private garden, it had a traditional but relaxing atmosphere. There was also an inner courtyard with a small waterfall and fish pond that was perfect for taking some quiet, reflective time to myself.

A delightful discovery we made was that there were cute hats and bags for the beach in the room. This was great because Castell Son Claret is located only 12 km from Palmanova beach. These kinds of personal touches really helped this residence stand out and exceed our expectations.

Breathtaking views extending to the horizon

The peace, quiet and calm was incomparable – the ultimate relaxation. The beautiful surroundings were truly stunning – from the magnificent Serra de Tramuntana Mountains, to the lavish parks and gardens boasting unspoilt nature. The pristine pool was also a highlight, and I spent quality time on the sundeck sunbathing by the water’s edge.

If you’re ever passing through Mallorca, I would definitely recommend spending a night (or more!) at Castell Son Claret.
