Professional event in the Russian and the CIS hospitality industry PIR Expo took place on 24-27 September at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre in Moscow. The moto of the PIR Expo 2018 exhibition was “Raise your level at the game”: HoReCa specialists were offered to prepare for their daily game and get competitive advantages and new clients. In any game the most prepared, skilful and better equipped player wins, so organizers of the exhibition invited market professionals to participate in business programme, to communicate with colleagues from the hotel and restaurant industry and to buy solutions for their hospitality properties.

17th ExpoHoReCa was held in Saint Petersburg at the end of February. It was the first time the hospitality event has taken place at a new location – ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre. TOHOLOGY visited the exhibition and prepared a photo coverage of the event.

According to the latest UNWTO World Tourism Barometer, international tourism saw a 182% year-on-year increase in January-March 2022, with destinations worldwide welcoming an estimated 117 million international arrivals compared to 41 million in Q1 2021. Of the extra 76 million international arrivals for the first three months, about 47 million were recorded in March, showing that the recovery is gathering pace.
